The
CLERICAL ASSISTANT II utilizes judgment and/or decision-making in the provision of the support service required for the Billing office for the Physiatrist in Chief, including: entering and compiling OHIP and 3rd party billing for submission; preparing invoices; reconciling provider accounts, ensuring that all claims are successfully paid; following-up on unpaid claims; submitting all necessary inquiries/ supporting documentation required for payment; updating patient data as required; all while keeping appropriate billing practices and processes in mind when carrying out duties and responsibilities; submitting monthly reports to individual physicians; Keeping up to date on OHIP coding requirements/ changes to the OHIP Schedule of Benefits; providing departmental backup coverage if and when required; performing additional clerical functions, as assigned; performing cross-functional support functions; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required


Qualifications:


  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent, health related undergraduate experience preferred. Medical Office Administration diploma/certificate is an asset
  • Six (6) months recent related experience experience working in a health care environment
  • OHIP billing experience
  • Strong computer proficiency with billing software experience, Accuro experience is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize duties and work in a fast paced environment in order to meet tight monthly deadlines
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent ability to pay attention to detail in order to produce accurate and reliable work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to produce work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
  • Problem solving skills with good judgment and decision making
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Vaccines (Covid19 and others) are a requirement of the job, unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario human rights code
