Position Purpose
- to submit a detailed outline for various two hour workshops including participant outcomes
- to provide all workshop products necessary (for each participant) to perform the workshop and/or provide complete list with suppliers to Supervisor
- to provide workshop-style programs for participants to learn how to design and make walking sticks and wind chimes (designs must also be provided by instructor for those requiring it) and other various craft projects
- to provide workshop-style programs that include the necessary safety information and precautions when working with wood, metal and other materials necessary for designs
- to lead a quality workshop to learners of different age groups (15+)
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience instructing crafts including wood burning or design/craft workshops is an asset.
- Confident in teaching participants in an interactive environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of safety procedures when working with various tools including wood and wood burning tools/products.
- Willingness to work with others and responding constructively to feedback.
- Previous customer service experience is an asset.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Must have access to communication technology (ie computer/laptop)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset.
