This position is hybrid and located in Mississauga, ON (GTA + Hamilton Area)

The
Manager, Risk & Product Control, will report to Director of Risk and will perform risk management activities as outlined in company's Risk Policy and Procedures.

This position requires a motivated, self-driven individual with clear focus on Risk discipline.

The Risk Department provides Trade Control, Valuation of company's retail and wholesale positions, Collateral and Credit Risk Management, Market Risk Management, Risk and Compliance advisory, and independent reporting to the Risk Management Committee.

Responsibilities:

Develop and support Risk's models and processes around PnL, MTM, VaR, curves, positions
Perform daily valuation of company's retails and wholesale portfolio with attribution of PnL movements
Analyze MTM movements by measuring the impact of new deals and retail load transfers, amendments, cancellations as well as changes in market prices, hourly scalar assumptions, congestion costs etc.
Proactively monitor all operational, valuation and risk management issues pertaining to load and supply portfolios
Collaborate with IT to ensure timely processing and accuracy of portfolio components
Act as primary liaison and coordinator on PnL discrepancies, deal and curve issues
Provide timely adhoc analysis on new deals, deal terminations, portfolio transfers and strategy performance
Communicate Daily, MTD and YTD results to stakeholders
Management, Finance, Supply, Pricing and Structuring
Hire, train and mentor junior staff on P&L reporting, risk management and other areas as required

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in Energy Risk environment, in a Risk or Product control role supporting a trading desk
Strong financial and energy modeling capabilities
Excellent MS Excel, VBA skills
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL proficiency
Strong analytical, problemsolving, interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
Advanced understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to retail energy commodities, trading systems and workflows
Degree is Business, Finance, Engineering or Quantitative Sciences
Nice to have Masters in a Quantitative Field
CFA, FRM designations nice to have but not necessary
