About the role

As a Nursing Practice Consultant, you will deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to community based in relation to mental health and substance use to improve nursing practice standards in communities.

Additionally, you will be supporting the planning and implementation of training and skill development activities for community nurses employed in the delivery of nursing care in First Nations communities.


About you

To be successful in this role you will have/be -

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Additional training and education related to substance use, addictions, mental health and trauma informed practice.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse providing clinical practice support in primary care, community and/or public health nursing or acute care, ambulatory care and/or outpatient centres, including two (2) years of experience caring for clients with mental health and substance use concerns.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
