What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic expertise and leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of advanced analytics to support Ministry business needs for high-quality information, and methodological support that enables health system evidence-informed decision making.
  • Lead the development of analytical reports, forecasts, impact analysis, visual tools and maps, KPIs, performance measures, and evaluation frameworks and methods to inform ongoing management and transformation of health policy and programs.
  • Champion and influence evidenceinformed decision making and business practices across the Ministry.

How do I qualify?:


Research and Analysis:


  • You have extensive quantitative analysis experience in the health field and are skilled in developing and using a range of analytic, statistical, and modelling techniques.
  • You can lead the development of complex analytic methodology and provide technical guidance to analytic staff involved.
  • You have extensive knowledge and experience with a wide range of datasets that are relevant to health.
  • You are skilled with a range of statistical software.

Strategic Leadership / Project Management Skills:

  • You can provide team leadership, direction and guidance to analytic teams, including assigning responsibilities, providing oversight, ensuring quality of work and resolving service issues.
  • You can establish project teams of experts to work together on data analysis and visual analytics and oversee all areas of project management including planning of resources, assigning project tasks, monitoring progress and reviewing quality of work.
  • You can balance competing priorities.

Consultation and Advice:


  • You can brief senior management on options, and short
- and long-term strategies to facilitate senior level decision making.

  • You can effectively communicate complex analyses and methods to all audiences including senior government executives.
  • You have superior written and oral skills.

Client and Stakeholder Relationship Skills:


  • You can build and manage effective internal and external partnerships.
  • You can provide expertise and advise to clients on analytic products, reporting capabilities and tools.
  • You can ably represent the branch's and ministry's interests when meeting with stakeholders.

Specialized Knowledge:


  • You have advanced knowledge of the theories, concepts, methods, and measures in one or more of the following specialized areas: epidemiology, statistics, health geography, biostatistics, health economics, and understanding of analytic methods, performance indicators, research and statistical techniques, and methods used in health analytics
