IBT College is looking for an
in-person PSW Instructor to join our wonderful team This enthusiastic individual would be required to perform the following job responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Teach students using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, independent and group projects
- Provide classes inperson
- Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
- Instruct students using lecture plans, demonstrations, independent or group projects
- Offer PSW and continuing education workshops remotely and/or inperson
- Prepare, administer, and mark tests and papers to evaluate student's progress in a timely manner
- Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to students, as and when needed
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations; keep the Academic Coordinator wellinformed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems
- Serve on committees concerned with matters such as budgets, curriculum revision, development of new programs/course work to accommodate current and future organizational growth
- Stay informed about changes and innovations in your field
- Help in maintaining student files
- Evaluate students in practical, interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills and provide regular feedback and contributes to the progress report
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Recent experience teaching in a formal education setting
- Two or more years of fulltime nursing experience with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system, the roles and responsibilities of health care team members and current policies and procedures within residential and community care settings. Nursing work experience to include;
- Experience working with older adults with complex health needs;
- Experience or orientation inhome support and multilevel /complex care.
- Ability to lead, supervise and evaluate students
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent problemsolving skills and solutionfocused thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within competing deadlines/priorities
- Willingness and ability to travel to varied practicum training sites
Hours will be Monday to Friday: 1 pm-5 pm
Job Type:
Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON M2N 7E7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Nursing: 2 years (preferred)
