What we are looking for:


Your duties will include:

  • Scheduling clinic appointments for initial consultation and followup visits
  • Registering patients
  • Greeting patients, answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Followup of telephone reminder appointments to patients as required
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies
  • Photocopying, filing compiling and/or photocopying reports to send to various outside agencies
  • Performing special projects as assigned

What you bring to MSH:


  • Experience out patient scheduling and/or registration required
  • Recent unit secretary experience; preferably in a clinic/outpatient environment
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of computer technology with proficient typing skills
  • Experience with patient scheduling and registration modules is essential; experience with Meditech is preferred
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands in a fast pace environment
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decisionmaking skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Compensation:


BAND CUP C03:
$ $27.43 per hour
