    Description
    AECOM Buildings + Places Architectural team is looking for an Architectural Designer to join our Burnaby, BC-based team.
    AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a dynamic and expanding fully integrated team covering architecture, all building engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics, and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may involve, but are not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education, and Government.
    Major Responsibilities:
    • Provide architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within project schedules and budget.
    • Manage groups of architects, designers, and specialists.
    • Work on projects of various sizes and assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.
    Minimum Requirements:
    To be considered for this position, candidates must have a University Degree in Architecture and (two) 2 years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience and/or education, such as Diploma/Certificate in Architectural Technology and 4 years of relevant experience, may be accepted.
    Preferred Requirements:
    • Proficiency in Revit
    • Master's degree considered an asset
    • Ability to work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary in-house consultant team
    • Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing
    • Effective communication and organizational skills
    • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
    • Demonstrated creativity in design
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Experience working with Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process
    • Strong conceptual and technical design skills
    • Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the BC Building Code
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Team player with high level of sound judgment and reasoning
    • Dedication to working hard with an all-hands-on-deck attitude to complete work efficiently and accurately
