    We are looking for a talented In-shop Service Technician to join our Distribution business in Dartmouth NS.

    *

  • Candidates with other engine certifications than Cummins are encouraged to apply.

    • This position is in an union environment. Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday

    In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision.
  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.
  • Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their

    • In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

    Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Heavy duty mechanics Red Seal certification required
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    • Experience

  • Intermediate level of work shop experience required
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

    • (Intermediate):

    Completes complex internal engine repair

    Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

    (Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
