As a

Manager Maintenance you would be responsible for:

  • Responds to owner and guests' problems and oversees resolution.
  • Continually monitor service and quality standards as measured by SALT, guest correspondence, and other guest satisfaction or mystery shopper programs.

  • Manages personnel functions such as selection, orientation, training, performance reviews, discipline, counseling, scheduling, pay and recognition, under the Engineering Department.

  • Is able to use situational awareness to adapt and adjust to fit the needs of the moment.
  • Conducts a regular walkthrough to visually assess the physical structure(s) of the building. The assessments are to determine the level of safety, efficient maintenance, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
  • Schedule, coordinate and inspect all roomsrelated Preventative Maintenance, rooms' refurbishment, and public area projects on a regular basis. Maintains effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy at the property.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repairs throughout the property. Maintenance and repairs of all irrigation pumps and motors including all pools and fountain waterfalls.
  • Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
  • Ensures that the condition and safety of the property meets QA Brand Standards and takes corrective action on any feedback given by the QA Auditor through the Brand Compliance Report and Improvement Planner.
  • Adheres to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls to include all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure the timely completion of team member work schedules and performance appraisals. Monitors payroll hours and reports.
  • Informs the General Manager and other department managers, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building, structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent, and costeffective proposals for maintaining same.
  • Clearly define, assign, and delegate responsibility, authority, realistic strategic business plan that defines operational goals and profitability objectives for the operation of the various subdepartments under his/her supervision; conduct regularlyheld meetings with each direct report followup on expectations, gather feedback, and communicate changes and new initiatives on the resort.
  • Be familiarized, maintain, and ready to implement Emergency Response Plans. Immediately available to report to the property in the event of any emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the Chief Engineer (such emergencies may include, but not be limited to, fires, power or other equipment failures, floods, lighting, earthquake, hurricanes, or other disasters of similar nature and magnitude).
  • Informs the General Manager and other department managers, on a regular basis, regarding the specific and overall condition of the building, structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent, and costeffective proposals for maintaining same.
  • Has the equipment and training necessary to computerize the building information and provide reports as requested.
  • Maintains appropriate supply of materials and equipment to carry out the normal day to day operating and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintains organized and efficient administrative and filling systems within Engineering for the timely and accurate handling of correspondence, reports, requisitions for purchase, and other administrative
