Description

The Project Coordinator will report to the Director of OH&S and work together with the safety supervisor(s) and site project manager(s) to provide leadership and assistance in planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.

The Project Coordinator assists the Director of OH&S and project manager in health and safety administration, company-wide training coordination and budget management, as well as projects administration and documentation.

The Project Coordinator may also provide assistance to site Superintendents aiding in project preparation and document development.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of OH&S and work closely with Safety Supervisor to assist in project administration and project documentation such as preparing and distributing meetings minutes, data entry, training coordination and course scheduling:

Coordinate with subcontractors for project administration requirements, health and safety submittals, hours, and statistics:

Assist Project Manager with construction planning and scheduling, training requirements and coordination, site safety documentation development:

Attend internal coordination and project weekly meetings as requested/required:

Assist superintendent in project supervision if required, including health and safety audits, day-to-day logs of site activities, description of work with applicable job hazard assessment development and photo recording

Participate in investigations:

Coordinate site inspections with clients, sub-contractors, and owners, as required:

Assist in administration and documentation of REMCAN health and safety policies, plans and procedures:

Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures:

Willing to learn new skills, be motivated to continually build knowledge, and grasp development opportunities within the Occupational Health and Safety as well as Project Management team at REMCAN

Working Schedule

  • Monday to Friday (occasional weekends when required by project)

REQUIREMENTS:


  • College or university graduate (civil engineering related preferred) or equivalent working experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and basic understanding of MS Project
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand health and safety policies and procedures
  • Be selfmotivated and driven
  • Ability to work independently and to work as part of a team
