Description
Our client is a highly regarded Canadian firm who is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in the Edmonton office.
This position will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the lawyers in the advocacy group.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, has superior computer proofreading and time management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work independently, follow instructions with minimum supervision and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment.
Transcribe digital dictation, create documents from standard forms or handwritten notes, or edit various legal documents.Prepare client billings, respond to billing inquiries and co-ordinate with clients or billing preferences.
Graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant Program (however, equivalencies will be considered)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an active litigation practice
Experience in Indigenous law would be considered an asset
Experience in Federal Court filings
Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management software
