Description
MLT Aikins is a full-service law firm of more than 300 lawyers and nearly 500 additional team members across the four western provinces.
Named one of Canada's best law firms by the Globe and Mail , MLT Aikins is the only law firm to have offices in Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
This position will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for lawyers in the advocacy group of the Edmonton office.
Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, has superior computer proofreading and time management skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work independently, follow instructions with minimum supervision and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment.
Transcribe digital dictation, create documents from standard forms or handwritten notes, or edit various legal documents.Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete these tasks under time constraints.
Prepare client billings, respond to billing inquiries and co-ordinate with clients on billing preferences.
Graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant Program (equivalencies will be considered)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an active litigation practice
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and document management software
Experience working on Federal Court Filings would be an asset
