H006 - $67,509 - $84,000 annually (Commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN Compensation Policy)

OUR TEAM


Within UHN Data & Analytics, the Data Strategy, Governance & Analytics Team seeks to improve UHN's understanding of its data as a competitive differentiator, and enable UHN to become a data-driven and insight-enabled learning health system that effectively manages and drives value from its data assets.


The Team is also responsible for establishing organizational data governance, advancing data literacy and data operations efficiency, and enabling UHN to develop advanced analytical capabilities that inform and support its strategic pursuits in care, discovery, and learning.


TITLE OF THE POSITION
Analytics Consultant


OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION


Reporting to the Manager, Data Literacy & Analytics within the Data Strategy, Governance & Analytics team, the Analytics Consultant will play a key role in implementing value initiatives that highlight UHN's data assets as a competitive advantage, and develop innovative analytics solutions to improve the delivery of care and operations.


The Analytics Consultant will:

  • Engage relevant clinical, technical, business and leadership teams to understand problems and current state and identify opportunity;
  • Identify appropriate analytics solutions through stakeholder engagement, literature review and requirements gathering;
  • Develop and implement analytics solutions through predictive analytics, modeling, simulation, dashboards and reports;
  • Visualize complex organizational data to tell a story, derive datadriven insights and demonstrate value;
  • Evaluate analytics solutions implemented to ensure sustainable value and improvement;
  • Work with and support Graduate Students and Academic Supervisors within UHN's Analytics Student Program, as needed;
  • Be committed to improving UHN's data and analytics maturity;

CANDIDATE STRENGTHS

Data & Analytics:

  • Able to determine business insights and opportunities through the collection, assessment, analysis and visualization of data;
  • Possess knowledge and experience of the data and analytics life cycle;
  • Be proficient in data sourcing, predictive analytics, modeling, simulation, dashboard development and data visualization;

Project Management:

  • Possess experience working on multiple projects from initiation to closeout, including scoping, planning, implementation, issue/risk management and benefits realization;
  • Able to recognize problems, proactively research the best option, and utilize individual judgment and action to resolve them;
  • Able to break down complex problems into manageable deliverables and perform rootcause analysis;
  • Be organized, detailoriented, adaptive, and clientfocused;
  • Possess strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication skills;
  • Be selfmotivated, with the ability to work independently and efficiently;

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:


Required:

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in predictive analytics, dashboards, simulation, and reporting;
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience in project management or consulting;
  • Advanced proficiency in R, Python, SQL, MS Azure, MS Power BI and simulation software [e.g. Simul8];
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint);
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple priorities successfully in a fastpaced environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct requirements gathering, workflow/data mapping, user documentation, testing and training;

Considered an asset:

  • Knowledge of trends, strategic frameworks, and advances in data and analytics capabilities;
  • Experience working in a complex, public sector organization or healthcare institution;
  • Experience with programming [JavaScript, html, CSS, etc.];
