    Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join their team as a Machinist Supervisor.

    As a key member of their manufacturing team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing machining operations, ensuring quality standards, and leading a team of talented machinists.


    We're working with a client that specializes in custom fabrication and manufacturing work across a variety of industries (including electronics, telecommunications, automation, renewable energy, and more), and are looking for a full time permanent Supervisor for a Coquitlam Machine shop who can lead a team of 10 machinist and 2 operators.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:

    • Possess a strong knowledge of CNC programming (in SolidWorks), lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment. Proficiency in setting up and running HAAS CNC 3 & 4 axis milling machines, lathes, presses, tapping, and manual milling machines.
    • Coach and mentor team members in the Machining Departments, fostering a collaborative and growthoriented work environment.
    • Plan and coordinate work center schedules and manpower requirements according to job specifications. Ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
    • Lead and conduct formal problemsolving sessions, training activities, and reviews of production reports to initiate corrective actions when necessary.
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to maximize efficiency, productivity, and product quality while minimizing costs, including ensuring inprocess controls are routinely followed to verify that product quality standards are met. Uphold the highest standards of quality in all machining processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety regulations, creating a safe and secure work environment for all team members.
    • Maintain open and effective communication with peers, work center coordinators, production managers, morning and graveyard supervisors, and other department managers.
    Qualifications

    What you bring:
    Supervisor skills
    Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with leadership responsibilities.

    Ability to set up and run HAAS CNC 3 & 4 axis milling machines, lathes, presses, tapping, and manual milling machines.

    Solid understanding of HAAS controls and MasterCAM software.
    Proficient in machining Copper, Steel (Satin, Stainless, Mild, etc.), and Aluminum.
    Custom job shop experience is an asset.
