Job Summary


The Specialist, Solution Management is responsible for understanding business requirements, data definitions, business rules and data quality requirements, as well as logical and physical models.

The role supervises and maintains the Data Operations and Services practice within the team.

Moreover, the incumbent brings technical expertise to ensure the operations of our services are delivered within the Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) defined with the business and other areas to help them make better decisions.

The position ensures data integrity and normalization and oversees and runs all reporting environments, including data sources, security, and business rules.

Main Responsibilities

Data Design and Management

  • Collaborate in building conceptual, logical, and physical data models with Data Designers and Modellers and source to target mapping documents to describe data transformations
  • Design and develop curated data assets in Data Lake and Data Warehouse to support operational reporting, data science and selfservice analytics
  • Define, document, and maintain standards and best practices around data development and data operations
  • Perform and participate in development reviews and Transfer to Core sessions
  • Handle the onboarding, support, and mentorship of new Data Developers
  • Participate in the assessment and design of data architecture
Data and Technical Architecture Integration and Alignment

  • Troubleshoot data issues within the business and present solutions and recommendations
  • Define unit testing to ensure Data Developers follow specifications
  • Participate in the delivery and support of data quality and consolidation initiatives
  • Propose simplification initiatives to allow for more effective data operations and support
  • Provide analytical support by developing dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau to deliver business insight
  • Resolve areas for automation within the support process
  • Identify proactive monitoring opportunities and build upon them
  • Analyze data pipelines through the development of debugging capabilities
Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.


Requirements:

Experience

Data Development

  • Minimum 5 years overall work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in analysis, data design and data development
  • Experience performing root cause analysis to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field, related degree, or equivalent experience

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Erwin Data Modeller r9.8 or similar version
  • Advanced knowledge of dimensional modelling techniques, data modelling and data architecture best practices
  • Knowledge of semistructured and unstructured data
  • Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Lake (ADLS), Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Development Operations (DevOps) Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD), Qlik, Databricks, and Business Intelligence or relevant data environment, Azure Data Explorer (ADX) including Kusto Structured Query Language (KSQL) and Kafka
  • Knowledge of realtime data streaming and loading, working with IBM Datastage, data science projects, Scale Agile Methodology (SAFe) and Qlik
  • Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
