We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Sources Payroll/HR team This individual should be highly organized, collaborative and detail oriented while also possessing a thorough knowledge of all things Payroll

Sources Payroll Team


The Payroll Team provides support throughout the organization for payroll, benefits, internal and external financial reporting, and addressing queries from staff.

We are a small tightly knit team, with positive attitudes and a willingness to pitch in to help the team meet deadlines and deliver results.


Description of position
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing payrolls in both a non-union and unionized environment.

The Payroll Administrator will be part of a team delivering outstanding payroll services to over 350 employees on a bi-weekly basis while adhering to company policies, employment law, and other requirements under our collective agreement.


General Responsibilities:


  • Bi-Weekly payroll processing for assigned staff
  • Process all staffing changes including leaves, salary adjustments, terminations etc.
  • Respond to employee enquiries using knowledge of established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with benefits/pension administration
  • Maintain sick and vacation accruals.
  • Prepare, distribute and track job postings
  • Maintain and update electronic personnel files
  • Preparation of various monthly/annual reports
  • Assist other team members to ensure department deadlines are met
  • Special projects as required

Qualifications:


  • Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner certificate required with a minimum of 2 years' experience within a payroll environment.
  • Combination of relevant experience, education, and training will be considered.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel), and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with timedriven deadlines and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests.
  • An understanding of payroll regulatory requirements and Employment Standards Act of BC
  • Attention to detail and strong numeracy skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and good judgment.
