The CNE fair is a cherished tradition, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run.

Overview

Reporting to the Program Director, the Programs Assistant, Sports and Attractions role will be to assist the Programs team with contracts, work orders, summer staffing, and supervision of staff during the fair.


Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing administrative support for new Sports and Attractions activations and Kids' World activations
  • Providing exhibit development support, interpretation, and technical expertise
  • Assisting in the hiring, training, and supervision of Kids' World 18day fair staff
  • Contributing to all aspects of the programming and work collaboratively with all departments ()
  • Contribute to programming areas which may involve technological installations, competitions, children's activities, stage shows, and other duties related to these events
  • Performing other duties as assigned

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 40lbs

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • Proven organization and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Education and/or experience in a field related to event management would be considered an asset
  • Some experience with exhibition development and execution
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience with children would be considered an asset
  • A valid driver's license would be considered an asset
  • Full availability during CNE event required
  • Flexibility to work days or evenings during the event, as required

The Canadian National Exhibition Association (CNEA) is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1879 for the purpose of fostering the development of agriculture, industry and the arts.
