Your Opportunity:

The Supervisor Linen and Environmental Services (LES) works under the general direction of the Manager LES.

The position supports the Manager with planning, leadership, and daily operations of Environmental Services & Central Portering at Rockyview General Hospital as well as Daily EVS operations at the Richmond Road Treatment & Diagnostic center.

Environmental Services provides a 24/7 service to ensure cleaning and disinfecting of discharged and occupied patient rooms, clinical and non-clinical spaces, and medical equipment.

Central Portering provides a 24/7 service to ensure the safe and efficient transport of all patients, materials, and equipment within the facility.

The position tracks key performance targets, identifies efficiencies and promotes optimal use of resources while making recommendations on current and future service adjustments to staff budgets and service delivery models.

The supervisor is accountable for ensuring that Environmental Services and Portering are delivered in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation in AHS.

This position also ensures general, biomedical and chemical waste as well as all waste recycling streams are collected, ensuring all legislative and regulatory compliance is met.

" This supervisor position will primarily work M-F 8a-4.15p and may include some weekend work, based on rotation. There may be a need to flex hours based on operational needs."


Description:


The position is responsible and accountable for: Human Resource management (recruitment, retention, probationary and annual performance reviews, and performance management).

Ensure that appropriate quality and safety measures are in place and are compatible with IPC and WHS industry and Provincial standards.

Making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of all goals of LES.

Assisting in monitoring, planning and organization of Portering and Housekeeping demands, setting staffing levels, development of work routines and maintaining accurate records within Central Portering and LES.

The supervisor promotes leadership in the identification of environmental services and portering issues and assists in recommending and implementing solutions to those issues.

Meets regularly with clinical customers to maintain sound relationships, reviews performance and manages escalated issues. Ensures the Manager as appropriate are informed of and aware of significant events and/or activities within facilities.

The Supervisor is also responsible for:
Implementation of the waste management program and practices. Ensuring Quality Audits are conducted at the specified frequency and that recommendations and follow up actions are taken.

Overseeing the cleaning of facility furnishings and any required project work, as well as shared patient clinical equipment, and any central pooled items.

Demonstrates LEADs in a Caring Environment key skills, behaviors, and abilities. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Able to host regular staff meetings and be comfortable speaking to large groups of staff. Time management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Solid knowledge of infection prevention and control best practices and protocols regarding all surface cleaning and outbreak management. Working knowledge of cleaning products and equipment. Central portering or similar logístical experience. Experience in managing unionized staff.

$24.62-$42.30 per hour
