_Catholic Social Services is currently seeking casual Community Disability Worker II's in Red Deer to join our SIL and Transitional SIL team._

Job Summary:

Our SIL and Transitional SIL programs are recruiting casual employees to work with adults living independently and semi independently in the community.

As one of our Community Disability Workers, you will support individuals who are living with developmental disabilities, addictions, housing challenges, and mental health challenges.

Out teams work with individuals to learn independent living skills such as budgeting, home maintenance, and cooking.

We work with individuals to help them develop the skills to navigate their communities such as:
learning to use city transit; learning to communicate with landlords; and accessing community resources.

As part of our team you will receive training in approaches rooted in positive behaviour supports, skill building and development, problem solving, and the creation of supportive and professional relationships.

Your resourcefulness, creativity, and attention to detail, will help an individual shape their home into an environment that is safe for both them and those working with them, and that fosters relationship building and a sense of pride for those who live there.

Please note, as our programs operate 24 hours per day, shift work is required and will include weekends. Hours of work are based on the needs of the individuals, therefore, shifts may vary.

Education & Qualifications:

A diploma or degree in Human Services or Social Work (or equivalent)
A minimum 1 year working with persons with developmental disabilities, behavior, mental health & addictions
Vulnerable Sector Check issued by RCMP or City Police
Child Intervention Record Check
Clear and current driver's abstract
A vehicle and valid Class 5 driver's license requirement to transport clients in your personal vehicle
Proof of vehicle insurance showing $2 million liability coverage
Proof of valid vehicle registration

What We Offer:

The compensation for this position is
$19.23 to $20.39 per hour and is based on qualifications and experience.
