In our mission to stop men dying too young, we're seeking a passionate
Program Manager to join our Young Men's Health team in our Toronto office.

In this exciting new role, you'll have the opportunity to work with partners across Canada and colleagues globally as you take on responsibility for managing Movember's young men's mental health initiatives in Canada.


About the role

The role has three core areas of focus:

  • Implementation
  • this role is responsible for delivering the plans necessary to achieve programmatic goals, as outlined in the initiative plans stewarded by global initiative leads, under the stewardship of the North America Director, YMH.
  • Partnerships this role is responsible for overseeing the development of strategic, implementation and delivery partnerships to support real world delivery in Canada (the majority of which will be in the Sports Health initiative). The role will build and strengthen key relationships with these partners, overseeing new collaborations to enable initiative delivery as well as supporting Movember's fundraising teams to secure and sustain new funding opportunities.
  • Quality assurance this role is responsible for implementation of the agreed portfolio approach to partnering and commissioning across markets in Canada. This includes articulating expectations of partners who are receiving program and/or project funding from Movember, and monitoring and reporting on performance relative to agreed KPIs. This also includes ensuring that monitoring and evaluation is embedded in the process, as well as mitigating underperformance, as and when required.

For this role, you'll need

  • Tertiary level education or occupational qualifications in relevant field(s).
  • Demonstrated experience of successful project and program management.
  • Sound understanding of young men's health issues and the mental health sector.
  • Experience of partnership development and management, including the ability to build trust.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with a high degree of selfmotivation and initiative.
  • Highly developed organization skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in contract management and negotiations with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Experienced and effective communicator with skills in presenting to diverse partners.
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast paced and growth environment.
  • Ability to see the big picture, as well as rolling up sleeves to take on executional tasks that come with working for a growing charity.
  • Flexible to national and global virtual working environments and relationships.

Bonus points for

  • Experience working within education or training sector or health sector.
  • Understanding and experience of grant management.
  • Understanding and/or experience of organised sport setting(s).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing key challenges associated with managing programs and projects across large geographical areas.
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate global calls, ability to travel overseas 12 times per annum.
  • French language skills.
