What to expect:


The Communications Officer, Stakeholder Support position works strategically within CWB Welding Foundation to support communication efforts across the pillars of the Foundation including overall communications efforts and fund development/stewardship.

This role reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager, where time is divided based on need and team priorities. This position will work from your home office, remotely in Canada.

The duties of this position include:
Coordinate Events and Sponsorships Strategy

  • Steward current sponsorship agreements and ensure measures of collaboration are taken to increase ROI of agreements
  • Review and recommend event and sponsorship opportunities
  • Report on benefit of event or sponsorship opportunity and provide recommendations to Marketing and Communications Manager to continuously improve Sponsorships Strategy
  • Liaise with event coordinators and sponsorship point of contacts on behalf of the Foundation
  • Upload, optimize and coordinate programs and events through website and other key communication channels
Partner Relationship Management

  • Prepare and distribute regular partner and stakeholder communications, including government, CWB Group and Boards, and industry contacts
  • Arrange interviews and news conferences when necessary
  • Aid in drafting donor/investment agreements
  • Prepare and develop stakeholder communications when required
  • Work to steward current and potential donors/partners according to agreements, including media events and other recognition activities
  • Upload, optimize and coordinate partnerrelated updates and announcements through website and other key communication channels
Fund Development Support

  • Aid in drafting donor/investment agreements
as needed

  • Assist in proposal and grant writing, editing as needed
  • Coordinate data/metrics collection that aids impact reporting efforts
  • Prepare Stewardship Reports for sponsors as per agreements including copy and coordination of metrics, and design
Government Relations

  • Coordinate government relations activities, including government newsrooms monitoring
  • Build and maintain government relations contacts relevant to Foundation programs and initiatives


This position will report to the Marketing Communications Manager, CWB Welding Foundation and will work out of their home office, travel may be required from time to time.

CWB has adopted a remote-first working model, where employees will work from their home office, servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person.

What you bring to the table:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient using Adobe CC suite products, especially InDesign and Illustrator
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of industry and government landscape
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy of work
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently and work within scheduled timeframes
  • A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle is required
  • Superior attention to detail and high accuracy of work

The following qualifications are considered assets:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Relations or related field
  • Bilingualism in English and French
  • Communications or public relations experience in a notforprofit setting is preferred
  • Proficiency with Wordpress
