The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for measurement and management of the bank's domestic and foreign subsidiary banking portfolio.
TBSM looks after liquidity and funding management, cash management, investment strategy, capital management, funds transfer pricing, and market risk management.
The Market Risk Measurement and Analytics (MRMA) team within TBSM is responsible for measuring and reporting the interest rate, equity, and foreign exchange risks for TD non-trading portfolioThe mandates include:
- Producing risk measurement reporting focused on understanding current market risk exposure and risk limits.
- Performing analytics to deepen our understanding or market risk and provide valuable insight & recommendations for management decisions.
- Putting in place bestinclass governance processes to ensure accuracy of results.
- Ensuring that our people have the right skills to deliver bestinclass analytics and ALM modeling.
- Effectively communicating our results and insights to our stakeholders.
- Building a bestinclass risk analytics infrastructure.
Job Description:
The Manager will monitor the bank's FX risk position against approved limits, and proactively provide insight and recommendations to ensure the known significant events are hedged on a timely basis through stable reporting output.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Support key stakeholders by performing market risk analytics to provide valueadd guidance.
- Review current processes and proactively make changes or propose initiatives to improve efficiencies to provide more effective business support.
- Support the team through various initiatives
- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with business partners
- Understand and comply with TD Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements
Requirements:
Competencies and Personal Qualities:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to leverage visualization tools, such as Tableau, to explain complicated concept in a clear and concise manner to senior and executive level audiences.
- Selfstarter with a proven ability to meet deadlines, own initiatives, and work effectively under minimum supervision.
- Able to multitask while maintaining attention to detail with tight timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; team player
Experience:
- 5 years financial service or consulting practice experience in the areas of Asset Liability Management, risk management accounting and/or finance.
- Superior understanding of the bank's accounting principles and system.
- Superior understanding of FX hedging instruments including derivatives.
- Solid knowledge of retail banking product features and characteristics.
- Proficient with computer tools (SQL, Tableau) for data query, visualization and analytics.
Additional Information
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
- Postsecondary degree in Finance, Math, Business, or Economics
- MBA, CFA, FRM, CA, and/or CMA considered assets
