The role will be responsible for performing parts inventory tasks that support our Parts Business through warehouse operations.
The Parts Warehouse Associate verifies and keeps record on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment.
Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Receive parts into system on the same day of arrival
- With Supervisor's approval, adjust parts bin locations through BMW software
- Complete parts number changes on boxes
- Conduct parts audits and report discrepancies to Supervisor
- Participate in Annual Parts Inventory count (will include Over-Time paid hours and weekend scheduling once per year)
- Utilize established shipping practices to reduce freight costs
- Process clearly marked shipping tags through vendor software
- Inform customer, branches, technicians of any changes to orders
- Invoice orders
- Verify orders are accurate and complete (i.e. charged correctly, appropriate branch and documentation).
- Retrieve cores from van inventory and return in a core charge document immediately to relieve van inventory
- Ensure cores are properly tagged in identification
- Credit customers and branches with core charges upon inspection
- Prepare core freight, customs documents and pallet
- Provide World Class Service to all customers (internal and external)
- Engage with Parts Correspondents to escalate parts orders and/or quotes to be answered in a timely manner
- Listen, Record, and Commit to resolving Customer questions through Supervisor and Customer Care Department
What You'll Bring to the Table
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience working in a high volume distribution/manufacturing/technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate a PC and input data.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and also within a team.
- Must be able to work in varying facility conditions.
