Who are we searching for?

We are looking for two Automation Technicians - one for our Warman Road site and one for our Hervo Street site - to join our growing day shift team._

Job Duties:_

  • Design, develop, and enhance automated industrial processes, systems, and components, specifically tailored for Kuka and Yaskawa packaging robots
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex issues in Kuka and Yaskawa packaging robots, including their integrated intelligence systems
  • Install, configure, and maintain industrial automation systems, with expertise in Kuka and Yaskawa robot integration
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Kuka and Yaskawa packaging robot systems, including programming logic, wiring diagrams, and setup instructions
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks on packaging robots, such as calibrations, lubrication, and sensor checks, to ensure optimal functionality and extend their lifespan
  • Analyze system performance through data analysis, identify areas for improvement, and propose modifications or upgrades to enhance robot efficiency and reliability
  • Monitor realtime robot operation, actively respond to alarms and errors, and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel, including programming guidance, troubleshooting strategies, and safety protocols specific to Kuka and Yaskawa robots
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams, such as engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the robot systems
  • Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for Kuka and Yaskawa robots, ensuring proper functionality, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications
  • Respond promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns, both major and minor, following established safety protocols and employing advanced troubleshooting techniques
  • Thoroughly document all work performed, utilizing maintenance tracking systems, technical reports, and software version control tools
  • Conduct research and evaluate new materials, parts, and supplies that align with Kuka and Yaskawa robot requirements, seeking opportunities for performance improvement and cost optimization
  • Remain up to date with the latest advancements in Kuka and Yaskawa robotics technology, attending training, workshops, and industry conferences to enhance technical knowledge and skills

Required Knowledge/Qualifications_**:


  • Degree or diploma in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 3 years' working experience required
  • Indepth knowledge of Kuka and Yaskawa packaging robot systems, including their kinematics, programming languages (e.g., KRL, Yaskawa INFORM, or similar), and motion control concepts
  • Proficiency in robot integration, system setup, and configuration, with handson experience working on Kuka and Yaskawa packaging robots
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation technologies, such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion controllers
  • Skilled in troubleshooting complex robotic systems, using diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and programming software for analysis
  • Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in robotics, such as C++, Python, or ROS (Robot Operating System)
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities, capable of efficiently diagnosing issues in robot functionality and implementing effective solutions
