The Junior Governance Analyst has significant impact on corporate underwriting integrity with
specific emphasis on supporting risk control by monitoring, tracking and executing on various risk measures.
What You'll Do
Support and execute on governance processes and frameworks that support the Underwriting Strategy of Aviva Personal Insurance (PI). Collaborating closely National Personal Insurance to ensure that all risk and control measures are effective and in place. Continuously supervise, challenge, and improve existing controls while constantly measuring effectiveness.
Provide support for NPI on risk and control measures and execute on improvements to reduce exposure to risk and ensure we provide the best possible customer outcomes through accurate day to day governance aimed at constantly improving how we operate.
Accountable for maintaining the Wordings and Rate Manual inventory and ensuring a quality review is completed prior to posting.Tasks Include:
- Ownership of Wordings Inventory and management of process
- Ownership of Rate Manual Inventory
- Completing updates to rate manuals in partnership with underwriting managers
- Create quality review process for wordings, endorsements, and underwriting rate manuals to ensure documents are effective and working as intended
- Work with NPI underwriting to track, execute on and evidence key processes to improve monitoring and adherence to established controls and frameworks
- Work closely with UW analytics to challenge the existing reports ensure measures are effective
- Application of DAS initiatives with a focus on process automation and removal of unnecessary steps
The position requires a pro-active thinker who is result driven and takes ownership of various tasks that support Underwriting Policy.
Must be able to challenge the existing environment and organize information and documents for easy access.- Completed or working towards CIP designation or equivalent designation is beneficial.
- 2+ years of insurance experience in the P&C environment- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including MS Word, MS Excel- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Power Automate Qlik, SAS or other equivalent reporting programs- An understanding of business processes and operations- Prior experience with process automation is an asset- Strong relationship building skills- Excellent analytical skills- Sophisticated problem-solving skills- Outstanding communication skills- Ability to collaborate with and influence key partners to achieve results- Collaboration and working as a team- Innovative and diverse thinking- Cultural awareness
