Description

The GBGH Pharmacy Technicians work in a collaborative environment with pharmacists and other Health Care Professionals.

Our up to date medication management system uses automation (TCGRx interfaced packager, Pyxis Automated Dispensing units, Bar Code scanning) to support patient safety and workflow efficiency.

Part-time technicians are progressively trained in duties including packaging, dispensing/checking of first doses, unit dose daily bin fill/exchange, inventory management, collection of BPMH and sterile compounding with opportunities to be involved in quality improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Required:

College diploma or University degree
Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
Experience as a Pharmacy Technician (hospital experience preferred)
Experience in purchasing and inventory management
Must possess a basic knowledge of computer and keyboarding skills
Must be able to work with a diverse team and to work independently within the defined scope of practice
Must be comfortable interacting with patients and families
Nature of work requires consistent accuracy and attention to detail
Nature of work requires the ability to multitask in a busy environment
Demonstrated ability to maintain regular attendance at work

Permanent Casual. Mainly call in, weekend and vacation relief. Required to provide availability for a minimum of six (6) shifts per month. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the
OPSEU collective agreement.

Salary:
$ $33.69 an hour
