Nova Scotia Health (NSH) provides sustainable, safe and high-quality health services that are accessible, people-centered, promote health and wellness and optimize the health of all Nova Scotians.

The QEII New Generation Project is an initiative to realign care and services from the aging Victoria and Centennial buildings on the Victoria General Site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

The initiative is the largest healthcare infrastructure project to take place in Nova Scotia.

As part of this work, the QEII Health Sciences Centre's tertiary, quaternary care and research and academic mandates are addressed in the planning, design and construction phases.


The Manager, Clinical Planning will work in collaboration with the QEII New Generation Project team to deliver on the redevelopment of the QEII Health Sciences Center.

The QEII New Generation Project scope includes the decanting of the Centennial and Victoria Buildings and distribution of services to several locations including Dartmouth General Hospital, Hants Community Hospital, the Halifax Infirmary, a new community outpatient centre (Bayers Lake) and a new 10 bed hospice.


About the Role:

The Nova Scotia Lands Healthcare Infrastructure Division, has responsibility for QEII New Generation Project execution.

The Manager, Clinical Planning will report to the Director, Clinical Equipment but will support other members of the project leadership team as required consistent with Nova Scotia Health's (NSH) responsibilities for project planning and delivery.

This role will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate/provide indirect support to the QEll New Generation Project Leadership team.
  • Lead identified clinical functional programming & planning teams and serve as the central point of contact/coordination for designated groups. Ensure the alignment of project planning and initiatives to overall operational needs and strategic priorities.
  • Lead various planning initiatives including leading the development of FF&E lists and procurement initiatives
  • Provide clinical expertise to the project team throughout FF&E/Technology integration
  • Lead detailed process to understand and address the clinical impact and mitigate risks for spaces being redeveloped and the impact of FF&E/Technology on the overall design
  • Lead/support related procurement processes (in collaboration with team members)
  • Collaborate and engage key clinical stakeholders
  • Assist with progress report preparation to be used in board, executive and government status updates as well as updates to the NSH community.
  • Assist in implementing a risk identification and monitoring process for all NSH interests in the QEll Redevelopment Project

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline or area
  • Master's degree in health administration, Business Administration, or similar
  • 35 years' experience in health care planning, health care/hospital construction project work, including planning, implementation, and operational readiness
  • Exceptional facilitation, conflict management and problemsolving skills
  • Project management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience consulting with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other departments, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Project Management Professional certification is an asset.
  • Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation is an asset

Hours:


  • Long-Assignment / Full-Time Position (100%) / 75 Hours Biweekly

Compensation and Incentives:

$43.91- $58.3
