Primary Purpose:


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


  • Render 37.5 work hours per week (as a fulltime employee) inclusive of teaching and onsite consultation hours to be determined between the employee and the supervisor concerned.
  • Review courses in the concentration area working with faculty and the program Director to ensure courses are up to date and current with academic knowledge and professional practice.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to students in the specialized field (concentration)
  • Keep current in field of expertise through research and/or practice.
  • Assist the Director with course and program administration related to the area of academic expertise.
  • Promote the development of ASM and its programs through professional and community connections.
  • To serve on and lead institutional committees to contribute to the scholarly and professional culture of ASM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS_

  • Teach a fulltime course load (12 course/years) as assigned by the Director/VPA according to the standards and key roles and responsibilities set forth in the Faculty Handbook
  • Review, develop, evaluate and recommend standardized syllabi, course outlines, textbooks and other instructional materials for adoption in the curricula in field of specialization.
  • Assist the Director in attracting, selecting, retaining and developing faculty, and assist in mentoring new faculty members teaching courses within the field of specialization.
  • Participate in regular faculty meetings and contribute to faculty development.
  • Act as Advisor to the student club established under the specific area of discipline.
  • Act as key contact with the relevant professional body and networks to promote communication and awareness of ASM programs in the field and opportunities for career pathways for students and graduates; develop proposals for course articulation with the key professional bodies in the field.
  • Plan and support intra and extra
- curricular student activities including case competitions and other events that promote learning and development in the field of study.

  • Contribute to BCCAT Articulation process, attend BCCAT Committee meetings and provide academic expertise in the coursebycourse evaluations for the purpose of transfer credits and articulation agreements.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of ASM Curriculum and program development through active involvement on Curriculum Committees and ensure courses and course resources are current with academic knowledge and practice in the field.
  • Serve on at least one other ASM standing or ad hoc committee.
  • Complete and submit proposal and course information required for articulation with the relevant professional associations.
  • Update related course syllabi in the ASM Learning Management System (Moodle).
  • Conduct, write, and disseminate research or engage in scholarly activities academic, professional, or pedagogical to keep current in the field and to contribute to the development of teaching and learning in field.
  • Support student retention initiatives
  • Active participation in institutional meetings, training, and professional development.
This role will require the incumbent to perform the duties on site on campus or in the physical office.

At the direction of the company, this role may from time to time be required to work remotely, (away from the physical office location).

Regardless of work location key targets, tasks, goals, and projects must be delivered in accordance with position description and area or entity OGSM (Objective, Goals, Strategies and Measures).


Qualifications, Experience & Technical Skills:


  • Educational Experience: A master's degree in the related discipline (Doctoral level degree preferred, and required for graduate level courses)
  • Two years or more of directly related postsecondary level teaching experience
Professional Experience: 5 or more years of related professional/industry experience

  • Experience working in an international, multicultural environment.

Technical skills:


  • Ability to relate concepts to business practice in the field of expertise.
  • Ability to employ current pedagogical techniques including blended learning and use of electronic resources.
