Headquartered in Toronto, the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is responsible for investing in new infrastructure projects.

The CIB's mission is to work with provincial, territorial, municipal, federal, Indigenous and private sector investor partners to transform the way infrastructure is planned, financed and delivered in Canada.


Accountabilities:

  • Provide analytic support for various strategic initiatives and projects across the CIB, including:
  • Support a variety of quantitative and qualitative analyses of CIB sectors and sub-sectors including policy analysis, market sizing, and public impact assessment
  • Review investment opportunities, including assessment of the impact outcomes and public policy considerations, across sectors using the CIB's investment framework
  • Fulfill research activities such as answering strategic questions using public data sources, interviews with experts, and by reviewing existing research
  • Support development of internal methods and guidelines for defining and measuring outcomes; including measurement of impacts of CIB investments such as GHG emission reductions and financed emissions
  • Provide support for presentations, documents and meetings including:
  • Assist in drafting of corporate documents such as corporate plans and annual reports
  • Assist in preparation of documentation to support investment decision making
  • Compile corporate data and information for reporting and communication purposes
  • Structure and build PowerPoint presentations
  • Facilitate materials for internal discussions among CIB teams and executives
  • Take a lead on your workstreams with guidance and support from your manager and colleagues:
  • Conduct self-driven research to support CIB initiatives
  • Contribute ideas to support CIB's strategic mandate
  • Provide ad hoc support across the Strategy team on emerging priorities
  • Convey data and analysis creatively with charts, tables and other visuals

Skills/Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's program with the ability to work over the summer term
  • Strong financial acumen, with demonstrated aptitude for strategic, analytical and critical thinking
  • Interest in public policy, Crown corporations and infrastructure priorities
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, including financial analysis, policy analysis, and market research, with modelling skills a plus
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint, with additional software skills such as PowerBI or Tableau a plus
  • Strong written and verbal skills, including ability to communicate analytical findings in PowerPoint
  • Open to learning and working on a variety of files and sectors across the CIB mandate
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
