JOB SUMMARY:

The Environmental Services Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing work tasks of both housekeeping and transport staff in a team environment.

This includes but not limited to patient room cleaning, upkeep of public spaces, transport of patients and specimens, delivery of linens and pick-up of waste with accountability to internal stakeholders to ensure quality of service and customer satisfaction.

Additional responsibilities will include overseeing daily staff assignments, scheduling tasks, staff orientation and training, quality audits, special projects and other related duties as assigned by the Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum OHHA Environmental Services Leadership Program Certification
Community College or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years recent, related supervisory experience preferably in a health care setting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to train and supervise frontline staff in a team environment
Excellent conflict resolution skills
Positive, responsible and selfmotivated and capable of working with minimum supervision
Experience in maintaining a safe working environment, with strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Experience in managing frontline staff Early and Safe Return to Work situations.
Must be proficient in best practice and electronic auditing approaches and processes.
Must be proficient in English, both oral and written
