- Please note that due to the nature of the business, this is a permanent fulltime seasonal position (April to November) you retain all medical/dental benefits while on leave
Here are some of the other things you'll be doing:
- Preparing daily rack activity for the team by capturing the needs of our Customers and organizing the movement of our people and equipment, efficiently
- Handling and resolving issues and challenges.
- Professionally interacting with trucking operations/customer service teams
- Coordinating delivery requests with onsite personnel and outside vendors
- Maintaining the site's inventory and using the inventory system to collect accurate information, and produce reports
- Preparing billofladings for all outbound orders
- Working directly with Customers to answer questions, solve issues, and provide needed information.
- Partnering with Shift Supervisors to reconcile information and address issues
- Anticipating the needs of the site and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy with mínimal direction
- Advanced computer skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- A demonstrated ability to manage many incoming demands in a short period of time, and organize and prioritize them in a way that the workflow is smooth and Customer expectations are met
- Be a selfstarter who can manage their time and who can work with mínimal supervision
- Have excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
- Work well with others and have a professional and positive attitude.
- Crosstrain and learn other job functions (development opportunities)
- Demonstrate a sense of leadership and ownership for your responsibilities, and be willing to learn from others
Education/Experience:
- 23 years of related experience where you can clearly demonstrate your ability to work in a fastpaced environment performing the tasks related to this position.
- Dispatch and/or logistics experience, an asset.
- Experience with rail logistics or rail management, an asset
- Postsecondary education in a related field, preferred
- Office environment within an industrial environment (asphalt production and transportation)
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- May be asked to travel, on occasion, for additional training
