Landscaping Labourer - Edmonton, Canada - Park Landscaping
Description
Main Duties
- Promote the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Follow all policies and procedures (e.g., OH&S, HR, etc.), adhere to budgets/overtime requirements, and quality standards.
- Perform pregrade, rough & final grading.
- Install Softscape Landscaping such as installing: sod, trees, shrubs, perennials, mulch, among others.
- Install Hardscape Landscaping such as installing: patios, retaining walls, rocks, boulders, water features, among others.
- Inspecting, maintaining, and operating equipment on site such as skidsteer, ditchwitch, mini excavator or bunker rake.
- Use a variety of hand tools including shovels, rakes, brooms, hammers, and more.
- Use a variety of power tools including tamper, chain saws, drills, nail guns, rollers, among others.
- Ensure hand tools & power tools are in working condition and that each tool is accounted for at the end of the shift.
- Fill out safety paperwork as needed
- Toolbox meetings, vehicle/equipment inspections, incident/near miss reports, service requisitions, e.t.c
- Ensure that the tools, trucks, and work sites are kept tidy at all times.
- Use Asset Tiger to sign out/in all tools and equipment used.
- Wear the necessary PPE and follow Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures at all times.
- Promote high standards for workmanship, developing a safety culture, and creating a positive team environment.
- Always communicate professionally and politely with customers onsite.
Physical Condition and Capacities:
- Walking, lifting, bending, and various tasks that require physical strength and repetitive movement.
- Equipment operation and driving may be required.
- Ability to perform manual labour in an outdoor work setting.
- Ability to handle a highpaced and stressful environment.
- Use of hands, finger dexterity for texting, and electronic recordkeeping/writing is required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is an outdoor environment where the employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, and noise. The employee is required to work in a variety of weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, wind, and rain.
