Position Summary


The After Hours Administrator is the most senior management person on site as well as on call overnight ( when no AHA on site) and is responsible for addressing any and all issues that arise in consultation with the Administration On Call as required.

In this role, the After Hours Administrator works collaboratively with the Manager Patient Flow, Program Managers and Administration on Call to provide leadership congruent with the Vision, Mission, Values and strategic objectives of the organization.

This position fosters partnerships that promotes safe, effective, quality outcomes in a patient-focused and staff supported environment.


Qualifications:


  • Current Non Restrictive Licence in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • Bachelor's degree (BScN) required, Masters level education preferred.
  • Additional management/leadership courses preferred.
  • Minimum five to ten years of clinical experience required.
  • Minimum three years of management experience required, acute care setting
experience preferred- Experience in interdisciplinary team management and with the principles of patient focused

model of care preferred.- Minimum 3-5 year leadership experience preferred

  • Demonstrated sound management and leadership skills, exercise independent and
judgment.- Demonstrate and foster accountability in others, experience and leadership with conflict

resolution- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, provides participatory leadership

which includes approachability, visibility and accessibility.- Demonstrates complex decision making skills, has the ability to organize, coordinate,


problem solve, discipline, delegate, and communicate well with all professional groups- Demonstrated excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.


  • Demonstrated computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Demonstrated skill as a coach, leader, facilitator, and conflict manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to deescalate others in tense situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate response mechanisms when deemed appropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of the organization of the hospital and of the clinical requirements
for care.- Familiarity with Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, the Public Hospitals

Act, the Regulated Health Professionals Act, Substitute Decision Act, the Personal

  • Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the Personal Health
  • Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Occupational Health & Safety Acts & Regulations
