- Lead a team of Project Engineers and contracted Engineering Service Providers (ESPs) to provide engineering designs that support Project Management teams in achieving success in safety, operational performance, cost and schedule
- Deliver project performance reporting and mitigate engineering execution risks
- Develop and maintain engineering competence in your team through staffing decisions, skills assessment, mentorship and training
- Ensure high quality engineering deliverables through the establishment of quality standards and performance of audits/peer reviews
- Review project feasibility studies, cost estimating, project risk analyses, and conceptual, preliminary and detail design work
- Lead resolution of escalated technical challenges, safety and compliance concerns
- Lead selection of ESPs through Supply Chain processes
- Monitor ESP performance broadly to understand and respond to multi-project performance trends from contracted firms. Build and leverage Contractor relationships to influence performance improvements in ESPs
- Establish department goals, objectives, and strategies
- Build a culture of continual improvement through feedback and knowledge sharing that drive positive change in Company standards, processes, and project specific designs
- Foster innovation and support team in gaining Company alignment to pursue novel approaches when risk appropriate
- Coordinate across functional and regional boundaries with support teams such as Safety & Technical Services, Operations, Land, Environment and Permitting
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of applicable gas industry experience
- Professional Engineering Designation in Canadian Jurisdiction
- Natural gas pipeline industry experience, with demonstrable experience in Project Engineering Management
- Field construction experience in Engineering, Construction or Project Management roles
- Working knowledge of engineering design standards and applicable natural gas industry codes and regulations; must stay current on technology, industry standards and material
- Applicable gas industry regulatory experience
- Ability to read and understand technical documents including legal contracts and information on new management concepts and new technology
- Knowledge of concepts of asset lifecycle management, system reliability and gas transmission operations.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Execution Canada, the Manager, Engineering GPMC Pipeline is responsible for providing direction and oversight to the project engineering team executing the engineering and design activities for capital and expense pipeline integrity projects.
