Essential


Responsibilities:


  • Receive deliveries from suppliers, carriers, or internal transfers. Inspect the incoming goods for damages, discrepancies, and quality issues, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Assist your Supervisor in performing required maintenance on forklifts as needed.
  • Accurately record and document all incoming shipments, including item details, quantities, and any relevant information. Update inventory management systems or databases to reflect the latest stock status.
  • Properly label and sort received items based on their type, size, or destination within the organization. Organize the inventory in a systematic and efficient manner to enable easy retrieval and minimize the risk of errors.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, suppliers, or transportation companies to ensure smooth coordination of shipments. Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Following driver safety guidelines, store and retrieve material and products from storage areas, using equipment such as pallets, containers, pallet jacks and forklifts, taking into consideration factors like product characteristics and storage requirements.
  • Participate in quality control procedures, which may include conducting checks of inventory, monitoring expiration dates (if applicable), and implementing measures to prevent stock damages or spoilage.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures related to the handling and storage of materials. Comply with relevant regulations and policies governing inventory management and tracking.
  • Assist in inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory levels and reconcile any discrepancies with the records.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to shipments, inventory discrepancies, or product defects. Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve any challenges efficiently.
Skills, Education, and/or Experience

  • Professional level of written and oral communication required; both official languages an asset;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Valid Forklift license required will provide training if not already certified
  • Successful completion a Community College Certificate in Distribution & Handling of Materials or Business Technology in Transportation & Logistics an asset;
  • Previous experience in a Receiver position preferred;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of inventory control software required; M3 Infor an asset;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inspection required;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Job Conditions


Physical Demands:


  • Moderate physical effort able to lift up to 50 lbs at times.
  • Sitting, lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling, or reaching for intermittent or extended periods.

Work Environment:


  • Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office.
  • May be exposed to loud, repetitive sounds from machinery or equipment.
  • May use chemicals or other in accordance with MSDS.
  • May operate machinery in close proximity or with objects exposed to eyes or face.
