Full Time Cafe Worker - Rascal's Coffee Shop - Edgewood, Nanaimo

Position Summary:


This position is responsible for service and sales in the Coffee Shop, including some food preparation, sale of coffee and gift shop stock, periodic inventories of merchandise and supplies, and overall, to act as ambassadors on behalf of the facility both on and off the job.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Fantastic, judgementfree customer service
  • Cash management, including sales, daily sales summaries and sales reconciliations.
  • Periodic inventories and stock rotation.
  • Food and coffee service and preparation.
  • Maintenance of stock levels as needed.
  • Light housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Ordering of supplies as directed.
  • Ensures patients are not in the store when they have scheduled activities.
  • Immediately notifies the appropriate clinical staff and management in the event of any emergency or unusual circumstance.
  • Assist Rascals Supervisor as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Previous Barista experience an asset.
  • Retail experience an asset.
  • Some lived experience with personal or family addiction helpful.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent diploma.
  • Previous cash management experience or strong mathematical skills required.
  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
  • Current Food Safe Certification (can be obtained after hire).

PLEASE NOTE:

It is a full time position, 40 hours weekly.


_ This position may require work during evenings, week-ends and stat holidays._
Starting wage is $17.68.
