About the Job:


The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for undertaking a variety of day-to-day office and clerical tasks, ensuring the facilities department operations run smoothly and are successful in supporting other business activities.

Their primary responsibilities will include managing the work order dispatch system (Maintenance IQ), liaising with external vendors, program managers, and maintenance staff for scheduling repairs, tracking repair progress, obtaining repair estimates and submitting to Director, Facilities & Maintenance for approval, administrative tasks as related to maintenance software systems, scheduling inspections and other department related services.

The facilities coordinator will support Facilities and Maintenance department with general administrative duties such as managing department calendars, scheduling and coordinating on-site and off-site meetings, plus other administrative tasks assigned by direct supervisor.


About You:

You are an organized and competent professional with excellent communication skills. You are comfortable dealing with people and able to carry out administrative duties with accuracy, speed, privacy, and confidentiality. Your goal is to ensure the department operations are efficient and add maximum value to the Society.


You are a detail-oriented person who can prioritize and manage your time well and is committed to attending work regularly and on time.

Your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn/grow are your most important attributes for the position.

You are proficient and confident in using diverse computer software's, most specifically Microsoft Office/Outlook, and are able to learn how to operate new software's quickly.

Experience using a property management software is an asset. You have a basic understanding of standard building components, structures, and systems. You are a feminist, passionate about the work of ending violence against women and children.

You embrace Atira's mission, vision, values and philosophy. You have a well-developed understanding of and commitment to anti-oppression work and intersectionality.

You are familiar with colonialism especially as it applies in Canada, and you understand the impact of the residential school system.


Additional Requisites/Assets:


  • Covid19 and annual flu vaccinations are required, unless with an exemption
