The Client Service Delivery Division provides a full suite of strategic and operational human resource services to department clients, including employee relations, occupational health and safety, talent acquisition, classification and compensation delivery services.


The Learning, Engagement and Talent Management division is instrumental in implementing the priorities coming out of the new Alberta Public Service (APS) People Strategy and ensures the department is best positioned to deliver on the policy, programs and services needed to ensure the APS continues to have an engaged and effective workforce.


Role Responsibilities:


In your role reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Learning, Engagement and Talent Management, you will be instrumental in supporting the division by proactively identifying and addressing pertinent issues at both strategic and operational levels.


Serving as the primary liaison with other departmental sectors, you will foster communication and collaboration among the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), the Divisional Senior Leadership Team, departmental staff across all levels, counterparts in other divisions, and the Deputy Minister's Office.

Your proficiency in navigating dynamic environments and adeptness at managing tasks amidst change will be evident. Leveraging your political acumen, you will formulate responses to time-sensitive and delicate requests, projects, and briefings within the division. Furthermore, you will provide support for divisional initiatives and ensure the efficient operations of the Assistant Deputy Minister's office.

Additionally, you prioritize teamwork and effective communication.

Your robust analytical and project management capabilities enable you to effectively address challenges and organize resources in alignment with the ADM's and division's objectives.

Qualifications:


A university degree in a related field (e.g., Communications, Business/Human Resources, Public Administration, Political Science) and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience in strategic issues management, divisional business operations, or experience leading or coordinating projects and initiatives is required.


The following are assets:

  • Knowledge of and experience in core human resource programs and functions within the Government of Alberta.
  • Experience in writing, editing and/or reviewing government correspondence.
  • Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year of directly related experience for one year of related education, or one year of education for one year of directly related experience.
