_Assistant Recreation Facility Maintenance Supervisor _
**_Regular Full-Time
- **The Assistant Recreation Facility Maintenance Supervisor is an integral part of the Facilities team, responsible
for supervising the janitorial and maintenance staff at Brennan Park Recreation Centre and the 55 Activity Centre
ensuring the highest standards of customer service and employee engagement are met. Under the supervision
of the Recreation Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, this position participates in and oversees the operation,
maintenance, and repairs recreation facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems.


_What we're looking for:
_

❖ Post-secondary education in Recreation, Facility Maintenance or related field
❖ 4th Class Power Engineers Certification or Refrigeration Operator Certificate
❖ Pool Operators Level II
❖ Arena Operators Level II
❖ Current First Aid (WCB Level I)
❖ Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
❖ Valid WHMIS Certification

If you have the above qualifications and three years' experience as a Service Worker in a public use facility with
minimum two years' experience at a supervisory level or an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience, we want to hear from you

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Recreation Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, this position supervises the janitorial and

maintenance staff at Brennan Park Recreation Centre and the 55 Activity Centre ensuring the highest standards of

customer service and employee engagement are met. This position participates in and oversees the operation,

maintenance, and repairs of recreation facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

  • Contributes to the success of our team, creation of our community, and delivering outstanding customer service
internally and externally by fostering the District of Squamish corporate values in their work: thinking beyond today,

working together, acting with courage and enthusiasm, doing the right thing, and striving to do better every day.

  • Follows the District of Squamish's Customer Service Guidelines to ensure the Delivery of Outstanding Service.
  • Effectively responds to public enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Is available to customers and seeks feedback by developing relationships with regular user groups.
  • Communicates all feedback received to employees ensuring concerns are resolved quickly and positive feedback is
passed on.


Supervision

  • Supervises the refrigeration plant, pool filtration system, building, and small equipment by assigning and checking
tasks associated with ensuring the facility is maintained to a high standard.

  • Works closely with the Recreation Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager to set objectives and
create strategies for the effective maintenance and running of the Recreation Facility.

  • Acts in the capacity of Recreation Facilities Maintenance Supervisor when designated.
  • Provides support to staff through training, sharing knowledge, and helping trouble shoot challenging situations.
  • Involves all team members with open communication and encouragement.
  • Regularly solicits feedback from customers and employees and acts on the feedback received.
  • Is innovative and looks at situations critically and strives to do things better
