We are looking for a Trainer who will be responsible for conducting comprehensive training activities and assessments, encompassing both classroom and practical settings, with the aim of ensuring the proficiency of trainees in the Reduction Department of our aluminum smelter site. Additionally, this role will flexibly provide support on Training initiatives across other departments as required.

Reporting to the Training Superintendent, and working Monday to Friday, you will be:

• Adhering to Rio Tinto's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards while actively engaging in our culture of care, courage, and curiosity.
• Efficiently delivering comprehensive training, both in theory and practice, to meet business needs, whether for new hires or refresher courses.
• Following established processes and competency profiles from the Central Learning and Development team during training and assessments.
• Assessing trainees' skills and knowledge, promptly reporting deviations to leadership when necessary.
• Accurately processing and submitting training documentation within 48 hours for employees' records.
• Actively participating in the development and revision of training materials.
• Performing computer-based work such as: Managing and updating training records in the skill matrix and Learning Management System, updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and other duties as required
• Coordinating training programs and logistics for new employees.
• Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and the Central Learning & Development Team to update training materials.
• Ensuring the availability of appropriate equipment for training sessions.

• Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, guide, and empower employees.
• A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License (Class 5 or better).

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Technical expertise and hands-on experience in an aluminum smelting operation.
• Certifications in equipment operations and/or adult training/education, or other relevant professional qualifications.

The base salary range for this role is $86,560 - $129,840 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
