Job Summary:
The Glazier is responsible for installing, and repairing various types of glass, including windows, mirrors, and glass panels.
The Glazier must have a good understanding of the properties and qualities of different types of glass and be able to work with precision and accuracy to ensure the finished product meets the customer's specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Install glass in various settings, including residential and commercial buildings, using adhesives, anchors, and other fastening methods.
- Repair or replace broken glass in windows, doors, and other structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other technical documents to determine glass specifications and installation requirements.
- Safely transport and handle glass products to and from the job site.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and architects, to ensure a successful installation.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and are properly stored.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with different types of glass and their properties, including
- Previous experience in glass installation and repair is preferred.
- Experience dealing with tempered, laminated, and insulated glass.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools used in glass installation and repair.
- Good physical condition, as the job may require lifting and carrying heavy sheets of glass.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the finished product meets customer expectations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
The Glazier works both indoors and outdoors, often in a variety of weather conditions.
The job may require working at heights or in confined spaces, and the Glazier must be comfortable working on ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
Safety gear, including gloves, safety glasses, and hard hats, is required.The job may require working outside of regular business hours to accommodate customer needs, and travel to various job sites may be required.
Salary:
$25.00-$28.00 per hour
