    Description

    In this role in community nursing, as a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) and working as part of the ParaMed nursing health care team, your main focus will be to provide evidence-based advanced wound, ostomy, and continence assessment, management, and care to patients either through consultation or direct care.

    Responsibilities:

    • Offer direct care to patients needing wound, ostomy, and continence assessment and management
    • Provide education to ParaMed's nursing team, patients, and families
    • Provide consultation and clinical support to the nursing team, including recommendations for specialized products and care
    • Engage in leadership opportunities in wound, ostomy, and continence care
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
    • Act as a preceptor for other ParaMed nurses as needed
    • Adhere to evidence-based best practices and ParaMed policies

    Requirements:

    • Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC)
    • Completion of the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) is a plus
    • Canadian Nurses Association Certification - WOCC(C) is an advantage
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a community setting or providing wound/ostomy/continence care
    • Current membership with the Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence Canada is preferred
