Description


Reporting to the Corporate Purchasing Manager the Purchasing Agent is responsible for product sourcing and ordering, cost negotiation, inventory management and vendor relations management.


Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Creating, analyzing, and releasing P.O.'s and Transfer Orders at a National Level.
  • Obtaining product information from Vendors for price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Maintaining Inventory levels at optimum levels for all branches across Canada.
  • Preparing spreadsheets and making comparisons for price, quality, and delivery dates.
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with Vendors, Sales, and other support functions.
  • Continuously seeking for opportunities to improve external and internal processes.
  • Monitoring KPI's and providing feedback to the Corporate Purchasing Manager.
  • Resolving supplier issues, price adjustment requests as well as quality and shipment issues.
  • Constant review, analysis, and maintenance of all SKUs.
  • Any other Procurement related duties as required.

Requirements:


  • Post-Secondary Education in the Purchasing field or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of two five (25) years direct experience in Purchasing & Inventory Control experience, preferably in the Distribution industry.
  • Working towards CSCMP certification is preferred.
  • Working knowledge/Experience on an MRP/ERP replenishment system.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft office, specifically in Excel.
  • Strong analytical & effective time management skills.
  • Very reliable, resourceful selfstarter who takes initiative, able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written work.
  • High level of planning and organizational skill, able to prioritize and meet specific time sensitive deadlines.
  • Able to handle and produce work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask, manage and meet deadlines and adapt easily to change.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with an exceptional sense of urgency.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment observing all COVID19 safety protocols.
  • Ability to attend presentations and meetings.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
