Manufacturing / Facility Labourer - Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

About the Opportunity

The Manufacturing / Facility Labourer performs various manufacturing / production tasks and material handling duties as assigned to support the manufacturing team, as well as general facility and asset maintenance and repair at Westinghouse Electric Canada, Peterborough.

What will you do?

Your day to day:

General manufacturing duties including but not limited to component cleaning, identification, packaging, paint touchup, filling production orders to a pick list etc.
Supporting shipping and receiving with material handling of incoming and outgoing products and components
Supporting shipping and receiving with packaging and unpackaging of materials and goods
Saw cutting raw materials
Stocking or retrieving items in stores
Supporting production with movement of in process material and components throughout the production facility
General labeling and identification of equipment and components
General housekeeping duties and equipment cleaning
General facility maintenance and repairs such as but not limited to plumbing, painting, basic snow removal, general equipment and tool maintenance and basic repairs

What will you bring?

Who you are:

Has excellent safety awareness and some record of training (WHMIS, Lifting etc.)
Some experience or background, preferably in an industrial manufacturing or production role.
Material handling, crane and /or lift truck qualifications or experience.

- general understanding of mechanical repairs and maintenance with a moderate amount of technical aptitude.

Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and calendar functions.
Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling of materials, wood working, power tools, and the ability to recognize unsafe situations.
Read and understand fundamental drawings and other instructions.
Communicate well with others (peers, supervisors)
