The Manager Crew Analysis is responsible for researching and implementing crew planning modeling tools, monitoring tools, quantitative analytics and statistical solutions with an aim to ensure operational reliability, crew productivity and efficiency at minimum cost.
Additionally, to develop, publish and provide guidance on key metrics and reports within Crew Planning and to stakeholders in other business units.
Key Function & Accountabilities:
- Lead process improvement initiatives and change efforts to increase operational efficiencies at the department.
- Design and implement quantitative performance monitoring tools to align and reconcile staffing models, operational results, and budget targets.
- Prepare and present operational post analysis, observations and recommendations to internal and external resources.
- Lead operational analytics and statistical modeling initiatives.
- Create and maintain crew requirement forecasting models to optimize coverage required by the company's schedule.
- Design and develop performance feedback mechanisms to measure and reflect the cost of Crew Planning & Scheduling decisions.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of Crew Planning staffing models.
- Develop business cases and financial analyses for various projects in Crew Planning, including fleet changes, contractual proposals, and revenue opportunities.
- Integrate data from various internal resources to maximize opportunities for business users to access information and promote the strategic use of data as a competitive tool.
- Participate and represent the department in IT initiatives affecting Crew Planning.
- Measure and report on compliance to CARs and contract agreement standards.
- Demonstrate leadership and partnership skills by interacting with other departments within the organization to deliver solutions to Crew Planning initiatives.
- Conduct quality control to support the cutover of new crew planning models.
- Conduct benchmarking or other studies as required by industry associations and external audit bodies.
- Provide a quantitative base for business cases and collective agreement support.
- Provide base for root cause analysis and process reengineering.
- Serve as an internal statistical sciences resource.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or related quantitative field
- Strong IT background
- Change leadership skills
- Strong statistical analysis and modeling experience.
- Creative mindset with strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity for problemsolving.
- Results oriented and attentive to details.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts
- Experience with operational/ financial reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal.
- Flight Operations and/or In Flight Service experience, an asset.
- Previous experience working with collective agreements, an asset.
