Shop Foreman


The Shop Foreman is responsible to diagnose, repair and service all cranes + equipment with a focus on safety, timeliness, and customer satisfaction in compliance with applicable legislation.

Responsible for the work of service employees in a growing shop.


Salary:
$58.30-$62/hr

Location:
Abbotsford, B.C. (office / shop and travel to customer locations)

  • Must be Red Seal certified Heavy Duty Mechanic in good standing.
  • Must have crane experience.
  • Wage based on experience.
  • Working indoor + outdoor
  • PPE required.

Skill Requirements:


  • 5 years Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Red Seal
  • 5 years Prior crane mechanical experience required.
  • 5 years Prior supervision experience
  • Minimum grade 12 education is required.
  • Exceptional hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting ability.
  • Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language.
  • Forklift / Telehandler / Rigging experience an asset.
  • Capable of meeting physical demands of heavyduty mechanic trade.
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license required
  • Class 3a driver's license would be an asset.
  • Reliable means of transportation.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for maintaining the work and job schedule under the direction of the branch management.
  • Provide exceptional customer support for all Cropac clients in a timely + professional manner.
  • Provide daily updates on work progress to the office.
  • Provide technical support to customers and work with service team if dispatch is required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities and ensure a safe and positive working environment for all service employees.
  • Ensure all service employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all service department assets are maintained, stocked, and ready for use.
  • Review all technician service reports for accuracy, detail, hours worked, billing and submit for review to Operations Manager.
  • Review parts & tool requisitions as requested by the service team and work with the parts department to ensure they are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for adherence to and accountability as set out in the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Work within the provincial governing body for safety, to ensure all equipment is compliant and documents are up to date at our facility and at all worksite locations. (WorkSafeBC)
  • Supervise work of service employees as required to ensure work is completed in a professional and safe manner in compliance with WorkSafeBC.
  • Audit workmanship, attitude, and safety compliance and participate in conducting performance reviews for service employees.
