Engagement Manager
As an Engagement Manager at F.H.

Black & Company Chartered Professional Accountants Inc., you will be responsible for the management of various client audit engagements for a variety of industries and will be involved in both internal and offsite engagements.

You will coach and develop junior staff and provide mentorship where appropriate and support the firm's Partners in file review.

Due to the significant growth our firm has experienced in the past 12 months, we are ready to add an Engagement Manager to help lead our audit review team.


Accounting & Professional Skills

  • NTR, Review and Audit engagement preparation, review and management;
  • Review of day to day and month end accounting processes;
  • Monitor client engagements and promote relationship building;
  • Recommend and substantiate financial actions by analyzing accounting options;
  • Review and make recommendations to clients on accounting processes and internal controls;
  • Consulting in specialty areas specifically: o Audit o Financial Operations o Full Cycle Accounting Functions
  • Excellent data entry skills and varied business experience;
  • Previous private practice experience required;
  • Proficiency in client relations and strong communication skills (written and oral);
  • Highest degree of professionalism is required by all employees.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional Accountant, CPA with 35 years of relevant public practice experience;
  • Strong knowledge of audit requirements and ability to perform a complete audit;
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Simply Accounting and/or Caseware software;
  • Actionoriented, results driven with the ability to work in a team and fastpaced environment;
  • Excellent mathematical and financial skills, with experience in excel;
  • Exceptional priority setting, planning, and problemsolving skills;
  • Ability to multitask and manage several responsibilities at once;
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Confident, reliable and capable of working independently;
  • Knowledge of accounting management systems and procedures;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Must have a valid driver's licence and vehicle;
  • The ability to pass a Criminal Record Check;
