Team & Job Overview
The Partnerships group's mission is to develop and nurture partnerships to spark trade for Canada.

We accomplish this by fostering key Canadian-based partnerships and trade ecosystems to positively impact Canadian companies and make a difference for Canada.

As a Regional Manager, on the Partnership Regional team within the Partnership Group you are responsible for relationship management of EDC's key strategic partnerships within the Quebec region.

These partnerships will involve a mix of both national and regional partners that are well-aligned with EDC's value proposition to support the development and growth of international trade for Canada.

Your partner relationships will include a mix of financial institution, government, civil society and private sector types, prioritized based on the partner's regional impact and alignment with EDC's value proposition and Corporate Strategy.

Given EDC is a financial service crown, your portfolio of partner relationship contacts will be predominantly made up of Canadian financial institutions, Canadian financial crown corporations, and key international trade government departments.

You will work closely with several internal stakeholders including business development, credit risk, and other teams within the Partnership group to deepen EDC's key partnerships and capitalize on untapped opportunity within your Region.

Recognized for your abilities to prioritize and execute on key partnership strategies, develop long-term and sustainable relationships, you'll be a key player in EDC's role to develop mutually important partnerships that enable better awareness and support of international trade for Canadian companies.


Discipline Summary:


  • Builds and maintains effective longterm relationships with Regional Leaders and their respective teams, within key groups of the partner, namely Group (Credit) Risk, Credit Structuring and Product specialists
  • Implements relationship activities and outreach within key partners aligned to defined Regional Partnership strategy
  • Creates EDC awareness building opportunities with key partners in the Region, aligned to regional priorities and supported by other EDC internal stakeholders as per their Subject Matter Expertise

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Manage key relationships within relevant partnerships and continue to nurture prioritized partner relationships to drive corporate results and strategy
  • Nurture and build relationships with senior regional partnership contacts to drive EDC literacy, awareness (ie. partner training) & influence the Regional Partnership strategy
  • Proactively seeks and documents partner feedback to collaborate with Partnership Regional Director to bring voice of the partner (VOP) trends forward and identify short
- and long-term action plans

  • Gathers, and supports the sharing of Regional Market Intelligence from interactions and conversations with partners to feed EDC's product innovation continuum and ensure partner needs are considered

Screening Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years of relationship management experience in international business, financial services, partner relationship management or related experience
  • Undergraduate Degree in International Business, Commerce or other relevant discipline
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), influencing and analytical skills
  • Business Development mentality (e.g. takes initiative, growth and results oriented)
  • Collaboration experience with both internal and external stakeholders to execute on a collective strategy
  • Strong understanding of EDC's business (e.g. Lines of Business, customer segments)
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
