_Rafat is a Municipal Infrastructure Provider deemed to provide an Essential Service. Ideally, we are looking for an individual with a solid understanding of Civil construction and Municipal Contracts. Expertise with MS Project is a must. Road Construction experience an asset._
We are hiring a
Construction Project Coordinator who will assist the Construction Project Manager in overseeing a variety of municipal, commercial and residential construction projects.
Support duties may include:
- managing: Notice of Project; Certificate of Insurance; project locates and bonds; drawings, CAD files and specifications; submittals (i.e. materials, project plans, schedules); permits; traffic control plans; subcontract purchase orders; material purchase orders; aggregate service orders; rental purchase orders; and change order pricing
- Attend municipal and consultant client meetings and determine ongoing project requirements
- Prepare project organization and communication charts
- Attend site meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
- Track the progress of and quality of work being performed by design discipline/trades
- Utilize project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to clients and the project team
- Ensure clients' needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
- Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders
- Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project closeout documents are obtained
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in other team members
- Keep management informed about project status and any issues that may impact client relations
- Review and analyze blueprints, project specifications, construction documents and other documentation to assist estimator with time, cost materials and labour estimates
- Confer with engineers, designers, subcontractors, and material vendors on changes and adjustments to costs
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more costeffective to construct or subcontract components
- Prepare and maintain a directory of consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Enforcing proper Health & Safety policies, guidelines and standards set by the Company and Ministry of Labour.
